Topic: Most Controversial NintendoLife review?

I just want to say that first off, everybody has a right to express their opinions. Whether it's on local issues, political views, or if Pokemon Sword and Shield is a good game or not.
That being said, with a website like NintendoLife bringing together the most opinionated of gamers and sharing long and honest essays of their own opinions to them, there's bound to be a lot of disagreement and discourse.
I was curious, though, which NintendoLife reviews have been the most disagreed on?
Currently I've found the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet one to be a delightful bloodbath of debate, due to the game getting 7/10 and everybody disagreeing over whether the technical issues were the Switch's fault or the Developers.

@sForzan Maybe the last three Pokémon games, but I feel like there are most worse.

Earthbound got a 10/10 when clearly it should have gotten 11!

I can't think of any reviews that were particularly controversial. However, I personally think they rate retro games too highly.

There's no way Pokemon Stadium deserves a better score than Pokemon Scarlet/Violet.

Didn’t Arceus review pretty well. I thought it was excellent.

The one where everybody complained that the review was different to what their beloved YouTuber had told them to think.

Or the ones where everyone didn't understand how to calculate an average.

Probably Mario Strikers Battle League; I remember that one being spread around for AGES when the game came out.

I remember people where whining and complaining about the score NL and IGN gave Mario Strikers Battle League. It got a 9/10 or something, while other sites and the comments were flooded with “oh this game lacks content so it sucks, give it a 3/10 instead” or “did Nintendo pay you to give that review” and just garbage like that. Geez, if people are complaining about Battle League’s lack of content, old 80s arcade machines and 90s console games would put the fear of god in them. Those games and Battle league don’t really put emphasis on a truckload of nitpicky content, and instead they deliver really solid gameplay. As I usually tell myself, “if the gameplay is fun and interesting, I’ll enjoy it most of the time.” That’s why I still play older games like Arcade Donkey Kong and the original Super Mario Bros trilogy. They don’t need hundreds of modes or even levels to be very good games. People definitely overreacted with Battle League, and probably the new Mario Golf too. I hope Nintendo never makes another Strikers or Mario Sluggers just to spite those fools who review bombed the game. They bothered Nintendo for 15 years to get a strikers game, only to turn around and say “we want a Charged port, that game is better”. What a bunch of babies. I’ll be on my couch laughing in 20 years when people are complaining about a lack of Mario Sports games while I sit back and play my day 1 physical copy of Battle League.

Not sure an entire thread dedicated to disagreement & discourse is going to end with the most positive outcome if I'm being honest. If this thread is going to stay open, please keep this constructive & respectful. We are all human here, let's be kind 😊

I remember being a bit puzzled by this Dr. Mario 64 review. There's this weird vibe. It's maybe a bit condescending? It's different from other reviews I've read on this site. That said, I don't read many reviews nowadays so what do I know.

The review has a poll at the end and 90% of people rated the game higher than the reviewer.

It's its, not it's.

NintendoLife is better than IGN. I have said my piece, I will leave.

I see nothing incorrect about this statement. IGN is the epitome of toxic gaming site culture

@Owl1
The forums are definitely better. But the comments can get pretty toxic at times.

Microsoft vs Sony console wars for a shooter game that I really hate the most.
The whole comments filled with toxic comments from XBOX gamers and PlayStation gamers.
I'm sick to hear that feud between of them so I have my own opinion by saying I just want upcoming kids games while they are fighting each other for a shooter game that I will never like them.

A more accurate title for this would be reviews that you most disagree with.
Controversial seems to imply that the reviews were infamous, inappropriate, or something else.
I disagree with both the KOTOR reviews, not just for the 7/10 score. It's also because of the reviewers seeing the games as heavily flawed and super dated. I disagree, which might be really unpopular. I would give both games a 10.
I would give Persona 3 Portable a 9/10, it's excellent. The review on here is a 7 and calls Tartarus too repetitive and the presentation lackluster.
I would give Persona 5 Strikers a 10, just like Persona 5 Royal. I don't see it as too grindy for the main objectives of the game, which is part of the review on here which scored the game an 8. I also don't see the camera as an issue.
I found Mario Party 10 really boring and disappointing (one of the worst Nintendo games). I'd give it a 4/10, not a 7.
