Congratulations for getting Rock as your lover.
Now, you must be careful during year 2 as there are two important things to do once you get started 1 Spring year 2.
1. Immediately leave from your house at 5 am, go to the direction to Samantha's house, if you see a businessman walking in hurry from Samantha's house, he is Grant (Katie's Dad).
Talk to him immediately to get alarm clock and there will be a cutscene Grant will installing alarm clock in your house.
2. Check Takakura house when he is inside the house during afternoon to get a cutscene of Tartan plant.
You need to get Tartan inside Takakura house because Tartan can hybrid your crops and fruits into gen 2 hybrids and gen 3 hybrids.
The hybrid plants sell more money than basic plants.

And you need be aware with soil quality.
Basic crops can be planted anywhere since they can be planted on poor quality soil.
Gen 2 hybrids require good quality soil (beside of your chicken coop) and can be planted on best quality soil as well.
Gen 3 hybrids only plantable on best quality soil (the biggest field that you must buy if you want to plant hybrids).
But if you have Tartan, you can mix your crop seeds with special flower Gemsoil to make your hybrids can be planted on poor quality soil.
Don't sell these flowers as you need them for hybrid process:
Happy Lamp flower (Summer) = crops can be planted on any seasons
Gemsoil flower (Autumn) = crops can be planted on any quality soil
Upseed flower (Winter) = makes your crop's rank instantly get upgraded from rank B into rank S. Higher rank sell more money.

I got to the cut scene with Tartan. The plant likes to chit chat lol~ 🤣 I have to keep talking to Vinny (Tartan plant) then I can mix the seeds. The game wants me to make Pickled Veggies for Grant to get the alarm clock~ 🤣

How do you raise your child's interest in different things? I noticed Sean (my virtual son in the game) has a strong interest in athletics which I don't totally mind but would rather him be more into academics~ 🤷‍♀️ When I show him fossils etc he seems happy & even asked if he could keep the fossils. I said yes hoping that's a positive sign he'll be into academics more so. I did tell him to throw away his stick in his room but he insisted on keeping it. I told him if he didn't get rid of it I would which he wasn't to thrilled about. I might be to nebby in the game I keep reading his diary~ 🤣 I wouldn't do that irl but in the game yeah~ 🤣

@Barbiegurl777 Looks like your kid has passed the prime molding age (toddler) but a lot of things influence your child. Your friendships, what items you show them, what your kid sees you doing, where you take them (toddler) what toys they have, gifts you give them, events like getting the stick or box. You married Rock I think, and his kid has some of the worst stats for interests (for obvious reasons...takes after dad) so you will likely have to show your kid items and give gifts to boost decently. What do you want the kid to do/be?

Remember my whole lectures about shaping your kid's future?
Every single your actions, every peoples you befriend, every items you shown to your kids especially during toddler stage, every answer you choose when your kid asked something will determine of their interest growth.
If you want to boost his Athletic aspect, better you walk down instead of using horse. Maintain your relationship with Wally and Hugh.
If you want to boost his Academic aspect, befriend with Daryl, visit his place oftenly, show to your kid with digsite items.
Btw, how did you teach your kid during toddler age?
Did you really pushed him really hardcore by showing him certain things repeatedly doesn't care if he cried or not ? 😆
Because I really did hardcore from my PS2 gameplay experience long time ago.

@Ryu_Niiyama

I don't mind him taking after Rock. I know one thing for sure. Sean (my virtual son in the game) has a love for flower's & running~ 🤷‍♀️ He did the running around on his own when he was a toddler to the point I literally carried him everywhere around town & didn't let him out of my sight. I put him down just for a sec to get a few flower's from the ground & he would automatically take off then I'd go get him. I prefer Sean to be a Scholar in academics but that seems more like a pipe dream at this point~ 🤷‍♀️ He seems to be more geared towards athletics & ranching~ 🤦‍♀️

@Anti-Matter

Well in Sean's (toddler stage) I showed him all my tools, flower's, records (music) fossil's, coins etc anything from the dig site because I thought that would help his academics interest / ability in the game. Then each day we saw the professor at the dig site & his wife then talked to all the other villagers around town including the scientist, doctor, & the little old lady in the mansion along with every other character in the game we alway's stopped by Lei Over inn to see Sean's grandparent's in the Rock's mom & dad. We also went to the Cafe. Also had him see the hippie a few times & the 2 short dudes who set fireworks off but Sean seemed a little afraid of them & there house. We also saw Gordy hoping it'd help the art interest. I also took Sean to see the cow, horse, chicken, dog, & cat. He liked the cow, chicken, dog, & cat. Didn't seem to have to much interest in the horse. Tbh I barely used my horse in the game mostly walking around in the game for the most part. Sean got plenty of hugs, snuggles, lullaby & being tossed in the air repeatedly he loved snuggles, being talked to, & being thrown in the air over & over again. I could never make my kid cry on purpose even in a game it's just to harsh. I did show him stuff repeatedly though. He asked me questions about the tools & kept getting the hoe & sickle mixed up calling the hoe a ho or shwickle. I corrected him & told which tool was which. He also asked me about seeds & what they were. I only reprimanded him once just about keeping a dirty stick inside his room. I don't believe in magic another reason I didn't want him to have it to not get ideas. Not sure if letting him keep the stick would have been good or bad I don't know. Maybe if I replay the game I'll let my next kid have the stick just got an off feeling about that cut scene~ 🤷‍♀️. He does seem to have an interest in fossils etc & seem to be excited when I give him stuff from the dig site. I give him anything from the dig site whether expensive or cheap fossil just want him to be interested in academics. In toddler stage I gave him the ball, sketch pad, blocks, & car. He wasn't at a loss for any toy's. I think the ball might have boosted his athletic interest was hoping the sketch pad would boost his interest in art~ 🤷‍♀️

Oh, btw.
Since you have played the game, how many Save data slots available for the remake version?
I remembered there were 2 or 3 slots available from PS2 version.

@Anti-Matter

There's 8 save slots for 1 game. Thinking I might replay this game after I 100% complete it or at least do a good playthrough this time to know what to expect the next time playing lol~ 🤣 I'm to afraid to play in one of the other profile slots mainly because I don't want it to over write my game. I still have to fix story of seasons pioneers of olive town... 🤦‍♀️✌️ Just going to play the game all the way through then decide if replaying it later. I probably will. I have to admit it's different to get used to playing at a slower pace when sos: poot I feel like I was playing at a faster pace. Sos: poot also sort of has animal crossing vibes especially with the museum & taking stuff there so it can be on display~ 🤷‍♀️✌️

Seriously?! 🤦‍♀️ This game has irony. I've been showing him fossils & telling him there from the dig site & he seems super excited & asks if he can keep the fossils etc. I say sure & now he likes farming?? 🤯😵‍💫🥴

I do have one question when I play game from the start after finishing my old game. What happens after you have the baby in the game & don't bother to interact at all with the kid. I'm not going to play my new game like that but just a curious thought if the child in the game would still be interested in different things or not do anything. Going to have another boy the 2nd time playing this game through just curious though. Thinking when I replay this game from the start going to watch some videos on the toddler stage & how to raise there interest exactly felt like I did something wrong first go about~ 🤷‍♀️✌️

I’m a little sad because I thought having the game on the go in the switch would motivate me to continue the story and see the end, but I basically repeated the pattern of getting married and losing interest, just like on game cube.

Hmm... That's kind of deep~ 🤔🤣 I never played any of the harvest moon games on gamecube or the Playstation back then. My older step sister (when she was still alive) loved playing Zelda on the gamecube. She got mad at me one day because I played her gamecube for maybe 2 minutes. I was just curious to see the graphics but did apologize for playing her game system without asking. I did find out the original wii is backwards compatible with gamecube so bought some gamecube games to play which are very random in titles~ 🤷‍♀️ I'm liking story of seasons a wonderful life so far. Just seems slow in game play other than that it's cute never played the original. Is Story Of Seasons Friends Of Mineral Town nintendo switch worth getting? I never played the original for that game as well but have heard of it. When I first really heard of harvest moon in general I was in high school playing my red GBA SP & another girl in class saw me playing my GBA SP in study hall & lunch & the next day gave me harvest moon 2 GBC. She told me she didn't have much use for the game & since I liked playing my GBA SP at the time said to just keep it. I asked her if she wanted any cash for it & she said no & just enjoy the game so I did~ 🤷‍♀️ cute little game for gameboy color~ 🤷‍♀️

@Barbiegurl777 it is weird because I do really like the game. I just lose interest after a year or two.

As a kid I played a lot of Friends of Mineral Town, so it’s also one of my favorites. It’s a very different looking game, but if you’re interested it goes on sale every now and then.

@Barbiegurl777
Story of Seasons Friend of Mineral Town is WAAAAY MUCH Better to play than A Wonderful Life in term of basic gameplay.
You have more marriage candidates (6 Normal candidates + the secret candidates), a completely makeover of every peoples, same gender marriage, you have Mayor, you have a church to legalize your marriage, you have actual festivals, you have a full 30 days each season, you have proper names of each days, you have 7 Harvest Sprites to help you in your farm, a new way to get rich easily, you can go deep further in mines, etc.
Because the game are basically a remake from Friends of Mineral Town GBA that actually based on Back to Nature PS1 and I have ever played the PS1 version so I pretty much already knew a lot of basic gameplay of Friends of Mineral Town remake with some adaptation for the changes in the game.

A Wonderful Life is lack of basic things from previous games like I have ever explained before. It focused on your kid's future and completely neglected the important things what make previous games played better.
Also, the game is very linear and you must get married or Game Over, it gave you more pressure if you accidentally failed during the process. I have ever played A Wonderful Life from PS2 version two times from Japan and USA version (with pirated copies during that era) and I felt the games are really lack of important things despite the hybridization of your crops / fruits and watching your kid's future were something interesting from the games. It still left me some unsatisfied feeling to see a lot of missing stuffs.
Will I get A Wonderful Life again ?
Well, of course, just to indulge my guilty pleasure despite I already know the games are already Not so good.
Will I claim A Wonderful Life as the best game?
NO. It lacks of important things.
And if I have a chance, I will try to get both PS2 version for the original version and PS5 version for the remake version.

You can continue the game indefinitely after finishing chapter 6 as the game will ask you to Save before starting the chapter 7: Beyond (it named The Heaven in PS2 version) so you can continue your last progress as long as you want.
Here is the video for the proof.

Your horrible~ 😉🤣 First you say get Story Of Seasons a wonderful life it's the greatest game on earth (now I'm hooked in it btw lol) then say Story Of Seasons Friends Of Mineral Town is even better~ 🤣 Between the 3DS & the Nintendo Switch both have me hooked on Story Of Seasons~ 🤣 If I'm understanding this right Story Of Seasons Friends Of Mineral Town is a remake of the gba version which is a remake of the ps1 version? That's a tad deep~ 🤔🤣 I am curious on something though one of my friends had the super nintendo harvest moon game about 20 years ago I was at a friend's house & they were playing harvest moon on super nintendo they were older than me. Is that the original harvest moon game that started all of the harvest moon games or was there harvest moon even on the original NES as well? Trying to figure out how far back this series goes exactly~ 🤔

@Barbiegurl777 it started on the SNES, and yes, Friends of Mineral Town is basically a remake of Back to Nature on PS1, with a few changes to story and content.

The new version is strictly based on the GBA games, including the “More Friends of Mineral Town” version, which added a few new events. So any content that was already cut from the PS1 game is still missing, but the new re-remake does add new things too.

@Anti-Matter ah yes, I know about the heaven chapter.

I do think I will do a second play through next year as my daughter (just make a character look like her and just marry someone other than Nami).

@Ryu_Niiyama ah woah! The end is nigh. Do share how it goes for your child in the end, I’ve always been curious about the child career paths and that stuff, but have never really gone past chapter 3.

May a suggest Lumina for the next lifetime? (Save her from Rock)

Edit: All this AWL talk is making me want to continue my file. So I’ll get to that once I finish FFII.
