I keep throwing my credit card at the screen but no game…why doesn’t it work?!

Seriously though very, very hyped. Hope it comes to switch but will buy no matter what.

Unfortunately SNK being owned by who it's owned by is a gigantic turnoff to me actually wanting to give this a look but maybe if I can get it used or something.

Gameplay footage much? SNK was never the same after the whole Playmore buyout. Capcom should have purchased their IPs and remastered their best games. Oh well at least we have Retroarch 😉

@Lizuka You shouldn’t care about such things. Play the games you want to play because you like those games. Don’t let meaningless intangible reasons like you don’t like a certain owner, actor, writer, musician, developer or artist stop you from pursuing entertainment you enjoy. You can still dislike them and yet still enjoy the work they produce.

@LikeWhoa Capcom can only afford to put out one single new fighting game at a time of their own IPs right now let alone buying the rights to fighting game series from other developers. Although I wouldn’t mind Capcom vs. SNK sequels being the only fighting game series Capcom put out.

@Bass_X0 pretty obnoxious to tell people what they should or shouldn't care about. Some people have moral lines. Maybe owners (whose human rights atrocities sure are meaningful and tangible to those affected) aren't something you personally take into consideration. Cool.

Probably isn't gonna be releasing on Switch considering it's similar style to KOF15, but it would be cool if it did get for Switch or even Nintendo's next console

I like how announcer says "Garô Densetsu"(Legend of the Hungry Wolf), instead of "Fatal Fury".

The real question is will it come out on Switch? I’ll more than likely get on another console anyways.

@jake1421 Whatever the owners are doing is happening “over there” where we are not and not “over here” where we are. Let the people of “over there” deal with the atrocities that are affecting over there. What is happening “over here” is a new game is being released.

Really, you shouldn’t let every atrocity in countries you’ve never been to happening to people you will never meet affect your mental health. It’s not for you or I to change their ways; we have zero presence and zero influence in our ability to affect things happening over there. People should not lie awake at night worrying about things beyond their control and should instead focus on improving their own lives and the people in their lives. The world’s problems are not yours to shoulder the burden of.

If the game appeals to you, play it and enjoy it. That’s the extent of your impact as an individual upon whatever is happening.

I would laugh if SNK didn't release this for Switch considering MK1 look way better and is coming for Switch. Hopefully I'm wrong and MK1 on Switch turn out terrible but with Shiva and Saber Interactive handling the Switch version it almost guaranteed that the Switch port would be just as good as the other versions as Shiva and Saber knows all the ins and outs of the Switch platform.

@jake1421 I just know my place in the world. And my place is to not go fighting billionaires committing atrocities in Saudi Arabia. If they own a company that puts out product that I want to buy, I’ll buy it. I’ll let the people who do have the power, funding, influence and presence to fight them do so.

What I find naive is someone believing that taking a moral stand by not buying a videogame actually does anything of any worth. Saudi Arabia is still going to do whatever whether you do or don’t. It makes absolutely zero impact and such a moral stand is just pointless and ineffective. And no I’m not defending them, I just know that you not buying a game isn’t the critical blow against them that you want it to be.

@steely_pete That whole situation sucks itself but I can at least kind of compartmentalize between the stake they have now and how much more of one they have in SNK. That being said if they did eventually get to owning as much of Nintendo I'd stop buying their stuff too.

Going to play some Garou Mark of the Wolves with my Mayflash f500 when I get home from work!

The art style is very faithful. I think they have done a brilliant job here. (Looks like the artwork from Capcom Vs SNK in places!) I'll be waiting patiently for gameplay.

One person buying the game adds zero to a billionaire’s wealth and not buying the game reduces their wealth by zero. That’s not a naive or defeatist attitude, it’s simply the truth. So if someone wants to play the game, they should.

The only ones that would suffer will be SNK and the fans of their games. The owners will not suffer in the slightest. In this case, acting on one’s moral compass in such a manner is a worthless gesture.

I don't think it looks as good as those glorious sprites from back in the day, but CotW is already looking pretty fantastic from the small snippet we've seen of it here. I've been thinking about trying out the previous Fatal Fury games in prep for CotW's release and this has 100% cemented that idea in my head, absolutely cannot wait for it's release and I hope to God it comes to Switch (or Switch 2 potentially).

So nothing... zero gameplay.. I don't like teasers like this.. remember Nintendo, Metroid Prime 4??

I'd love to be proven wrong on this, but I think if we're lucky it'll be on Nintendo's successor to the Switch and probably not until a year after it's been on PS5, Xbox Series and PC. Again, though, I'd love to be wrong.

Absolutely love SNK especially the NEOGEO. Would be great to have more SNK shmups revived like the awesome Andros dunos 2. Imagine sequels to Last resort, Alpha mission 2, Pulstar, Blazing star. Etc..

@DKing64 No. I’m going to proudly and openly support my love for playing SNK games along with everyone else. I will not be shamed into silence by the likes of you for being enthusiastic towards a new Fatal Fury game. I don’t feel one ounce of guilt for wanting to buy it. My purchase is the proverbial drop in the ocean for the owners. That’s why I say it’s insignificant.

Just let me know if Blue Mary and Tizoc (not King of Dinosaurs) are in it.

I find it super funny how this thread is full of people horrified by the atrocities committed by Saudi billionaires while most likely still consuming from major companies from the US, Europe, etc., that without a doubt do things like employing almost slave labor in underdeveloped countries, pushing hard against worker rights at home, getting away with lots of corruption since they're so big they're essentially above the law, spending millions in lobbying to get regulatory agencies to give them a pass in destroying the planet for profit, etc.

@HammerGalladeBro I believe Blue Mary will be there when the whole roster is announced. In Samsho 2019, the cast encompassed all the previous six games, so I think it will be the same, with City of the Wolves presenting characters from Fatal Fury 1 to 3.

Man, i feel like my fighting game days are coming to an end. I can't even really get into Smash Bros. Ultimate anymore. Nor Street Fighter IV and have literally lost all interest in Mortal Kombat 1.

@WaveBoy Power Stone was leaked in the Capcom hack a while ago. Now games take years to make, so I wouldn't be expecting it soon, but it does look like they plan on bringing it back at some point. We just need patience

...that said there are literally zero people who'd prefer this look to Mark of the Wolves or similarly detailed 2D art. I would've been screaming at a reveal like that.

Based on recent SNK behavior, I think that as woefully as it can be, this one won't be coming on switch. We should at least had some KOF 14 on switch... Damn, switch doesn't ever have a Street Fighter 4 port, this is very sad

In handhelds mode – yes, they are. They looks hellishly blurry. When I've seen DNF Duel screenshots on Nintendo eShop, I was disappointed at how blurry it is. I am handheld mode-only user, so that's why I hate 3D fighting games on Switch. You can enjoy them by playing only in TV mode. That sucks!

@Ryu_Niiyama I’m having similar issues. Trying to find the swap, tap and at this point I’m desperately trying to stick the cards into the vents to see I can complete the transaction!? No dice…sigh.

Extremely excited. Getting it for Steam and the switch (if it comes out for it). this game is getting double dipped if that is the case.

@sinndec the "no ethical consumption" bit is not a free pass from making informed decisions, or a reason to put down someone else's moral stance. Not sure what you mean about the devil thing. We're talking about this specific example, not claiming any other corporation is highly ethical. If someone wants to make a "lesser evil" judgement call, why would anyone discourage that?

This looks awesome! No way it coming out on the switch unless Nintendo goes all in on the Apple/Sony model of retro-compatibility. Would be brilliant if they did.

After doing a little more research, the ties of SNK to the Saudi government, makes this a head scratcher. I respect people either buying or not buying this game based on their moral position. It's a tough one: giving money to an authoritarian government or punishing the devs amd IP that are stuck in the middle.

I sometimes wonder when these games are meant to be set - I mean like Ryu and Chun Lee and Terry Bogard would probably be in their mid 50s now right?

I love Fatal Fury. I'm definitely interested in this. I love using Joe, Mai and Terry. Also, the dope music. I was pretty good at 2 and Special. FF 3 is a true thinking-person's fighter though. Requires utmost skill and patience. This new one looks like it could be good.
